Interpretation
of the new regulations, their impact on the industry of the
Natural Health Products. And how can consultants assist you. |
| On
June 18, 2003 Health Canada officially announced new Regulations
for Natural Health Products (NHP). The products that fall within
the new regulations include herbal remedies, homeopathic medicines,
vitamins, minerals, traditional medicines, pro biotics, amino
acids and essential fatty acids (such as Omega-3). The regulations
place requirements on who manufacture, package, label, import
or distribute NHPs, and are intended to regulate substances
that are safe for over-the-counter use. The NHP Regulations
will come into force on January 1st, 2004. |
